COVID-19 Update From Our Partners

The COVID-19 outbreak is presenting significant challenges for the legal system in British Columbia. Courts at all levels have adjusted operations to minimize the need for in-person appearances to help mitigate spread of the virus. While the courts remain open at present, and urgent matters such as in-custody trials and bail hearings will proceed as scheduled, many cases are expected to be adjourned into May 2020 and beyond. We remain in touch with the relevant authorities and will continue to keep clients updated as new information comes available.

At Pender Litigation, we have also adjusted our office operations in accordance with recommendations from all levels of government and the Public Health Agency of Canada. Though our lawyers and staff will be working remotely until further notice, our telephone lines will remain active during normal business hours, and after hours for emergencies. Deliveries must be confirmed via telephone prior to drop-off to ensure someone will be present at the office to receive the item.

We will continue to advise clients who are under arrest, and conduct bail hearings and trials for in-custody clients. Our lawyers and staff are committed to assisting current and prospective clients with their respective legal matters.

Please call us at (604) 669-6699 to discuss any questions you may have about how COVID-19 may affect your particular legal matter, and we will be happy to assist. Thank you for your understanding.
